Analysis of Selected Factors of Slovak Companies’ Internationalization

Abstract:
The participation of Slovak companies in international business opens the economy of the Slovak republic. An open Slovakian economy can be considered to be an essential impetus for business activities and is a necessity in the process of globalization. The participation in international business is source of profit and it contributes to the competitiveness of a company compared to companies that operate only on the national market. This article examines the meaning of internationalization on the macroeconomic and microeconomic scale while analysing some factors of internationalization of a firm using results of an empirical research that had been done. These factors are the criteria for the selection of foreign markets and they determine the current state of internationalization of Slovak firms.
